The sanatorium was founded in 1778. The main treatment factor is hydrosulphuric (H2S) mineral water for bathing and peat for pelotherapy. Up till 1939 it used to be the resort of European importance, described in prewar catalogues under the name Lubin Wielki.
The main profile of treatment is diseases of bones, joints, cardiology, neurology, infantile cerebral paralysis, gynaecology, dermatology.
